Synopsis

by David S. Rosenberg
When terrorists attack railway transportation along the East Coast, FBI Special Agent Donald Corbbitt responds with little time to plan a counter attack. In desperation, he assembles available anti-terrorist forces in an attempt to save widespread death and destruction.

Meanwhile, Gordon Noble, a bourbon distillery founder, rails against career politicians, who perpetually ignore vital national problems. Noble declares himself as an independent candidate for president challenging the established political parties. As Election Day approaches unknown forces sabotage Noble's campaign headquarters, threaten his family, and kidnap his granddaughter. Noble captures voter sympathy and media attention improving his chances for election.

Under pressure from incumbent politicians, the Bureau Director, assigns Corbbitt to investigate activities against Noble's campaign. Pre-election polls indicate that Noble may defeat the other candidates and a major shake-up American politics looms. During the investigation, Corbbitt uncovers campaign irregularities and proves that evil extends beyond normal political conflict as candidates vie for the world's most powerful elected office.
